Branding adds your logo, colors and footer to every customer email. Templates hold the text of each one: subject, heading and body. Set up branding first, then adjust the templates. Both live under Email notifications.
Note: Available on paid plans.
Branding
Go to Email notifications > Email branding. There are three parts: Header, Body and Footer. Click one to open it. The preview on the right updates as you edit.
Header
Open Header.
Drop in your logo as a .jpg or .png, or click Select image. Click the x on the file tag to remove it.
Set Logo width. 16 to 200 pixels, default 40.
Set the Text next to the logo. Defaults to your store name. Leave blank to hide it.
Note: No logo and blank text hides the header.
Body
Open Body and set three colors.
Button background | The View quote button and any other button. |
Button text | The label on those buttons. |
Link color | Links in the body and footer. |
Tip: Keep the button text readable. Dark on light, or light on dark.
Footer
Open Footer.
Write your footer. Bold, italic, underline, lists and links are supported.
Click Add variable to insert your store name, address or email.
The default footer is your store name and address. Most stores add a support email too.
Save
A save bar appears when you make a change. Click Save to apply it to future emails, or Discard to undo. Emails already sent do not change.
Note: Branding does not change the quote page. Style that in the Template Editor.
Templates
You can create as many templates as you like. Every template is one of two types, and the type decides when it can be sent and which variables it can use.
ShopQuotes | Emails about a quote that exists. Sent when you email a quote, or when an automation sends one. Defaults: Quote email, Receive PIN. |
Quote request | Emails about a quote request, before any quote exists. Sent when a customer submits the request, or by an automation. Default: Quote request received. |
Go to Email notifications > Email templates to see yours. Edit the defaults or add your own. Defaults cannot be deleted.
Where templates are used
Emailing a quote. The send window has a Template dropdown listing your ShopQuotes templates.
Automations. The Send an email action asks for a template type and then a template. Quote request templates are available from the start of a flow. ShopQuotes templates become available once the flow has created a quote.
Automatic emails. The quote request confirmation and the PIN email use their default templates.
ShopQuotes variables
Available in ShopQuotes templates.
Store | Store name, store address, store email |
Customer | Customer name, first name, last name, customer email, shipping address, billing address |
Quote | Quote reference, quote request ID, internal note, quote expiration, time until expiry, passcode, attachments, message |
Elements | View quote button |
Message is where the note you write when sending a quote goes. Without it, the send window has no message box.
View quote button opens the quote. Keep it in every ShopQuotes template.
Passcode is the PIN for a protected quote. Used in the Receive PIN template.
Quote request variables
Available in Quote request templates.
Store | Store name, store address, store email |
Customer | Customer name, first name, last name, customer email, customer phone, shipping address, billing address |
Quote | Quote request ID, internal note |
There is no quote yet at this point, so there is no quote reference, expiration, passcode, message or View quote button.
Edit a template
Click a template to open it.
Template name | For you only. Customers never see it. |
Subject | The email subject line. |
Heading | The large title inside the email. |
Body | The email text. Formatting and links are supported. Click Add variable to insert a value that fills in when the email is sent. |
Preview | Updates as you type. Apply sample data fills the variables with example values. |
Save or discard from the save bar. To test, use Send test email in Email providers.
Create a template
Click Create template.
Enter a name and choose the type.
Click Create template. The editor opens with the default text for that type.
Tip: Make one template per situation. A formal quote email for new accounts, a short one for repeat buyers, a follow up for an automation that runs a few days after the quote goes out.
Delete a template
Open the template and use the delete action in the page header. Defaults cannot be deleted. A template used by an automation cannot be deleted until you change the automation.
Staff notifications
New quote request is the email your team gets. Its text and branding are fixed and it is sent from [email protected]. You choose who receives it. Automations can also send it with the Send an email action set to staff.
Go to Email notifications > Staff notifications.
Click New quote request.
Add addresses under Recipients and save.
